Just wanted to give a quick update. Luca got a cold last week, then gave it to me, then I gave it to Amauri... so it's been a rough week for all of us. He had a hard time last weekend with the heat... just cried and had sweat dripping all over, but he is much better now. Monday he had woken up at 5am with a fever and was burning up, but after an early morning cold bath he felt much better and the temperature went down. I think his body started to regulate it better. Wednesday it was 98 degrees in our house! Yikes :)
He is now crawling on all fours regularly. Sometimes he tries to belly crawl, but we don't let him. We ask him to 'crawl'... he knows the word so he'll sit up, throw a little tantrum and then crawl over to whevever on all fours. It's amazing how much drama he makes over everything.
His first upper tooth broke through the gums and we think it's causing a bit of pain because he is whinny and always sticking his hand in his mouth. But we're happy it's coming in... maybe he'll be able to chew more food soon!
He loves pulling himself up and walking along the coffee table. He also loves chasing the cats, although he rarely catches them. Only Charlie sometimes, when Charlie is so desperate for attention that he'll let Luca lie on top of him and pull his fur out. Kinda sad but really cute!
Amauri takes long walks with Luca in either his wagon or stroller. The two just love it. We just got a running stroller so I now have no excuse to not get in shape! Oh boy...
Getting excited about our trip to Barcelona... can't wait for the family to see how big he's gotten. I'll post photos and videos soon. Promise.

Green Lake
We had a wonderful weekend! We went to Finola's 2nd birthday party and played in the pool and on Sunday we went to Green Lake and played in the wading pool there. Luca loves the water... I think he'll be just like his dad... a natural fish!
He is pulling himself up on everything and is learning new stuff every day. It's very funny because he won't let himself fall down, he carefully and slowly reaches for the ground, while keeping one hand holding the table. He'll have one hand on the ground, the other on the object and will slowly transition himself back to sitting. What can I say, he hates getting hurt. Although you wouldn't know it because he has bruises on his face and looks like he got into a serious fight! He still won't drink out of a sippy cup but he loves straws and drinking straight from a cup!
We take walks every night in his wagon and he is making lots of friends in the neighborhood. We are looking forward to another hot and sunny weekend coming up... we'll be sure to take more photos.

Update
Sorry it's been so long! Life has been busy. Luca is now 10 months old and is a big boy with two front teeth. It is amazing how fast he is now changing. He started to take a few crawling steps last week (he's been belly crawling for a while, but these were actually on all fours) and he is already pulling himself up on everything! (we'll video tape it soon)
He loves to pull himself up, but hasn't figured out how to let go yet. So he stand and stand until his legs get weak then he'll start screaming and crying. We've been trying to teach him to fall but he is scared to. We've of course let him do it, but he ends up lying on the ground crying like the world has ended. It's sad but quite funny considering his bottom is only about 6 inches off the ground! :) We lowered his crib as we were worried he might topple out. Just another sign that my baby is growing up!
He talks all the time now... seriously non stop. He just blabs and blabs. He says ma ma ma ma and da da da da but hasn't figured out to cut it off after 2. He still likes eating although it is give and take whether he wants what you're giving him. He is always up for pureed anything... but with textures like pasta, etc... sometimes he devours them and other times he spits them out. He always likes peas, tomatoes and blueberries!
There are a few photos and videos below of our last month or so. We took a wonderful walk/hike in Discovery Park two weeks ago. We saw birds, snakes and even a mole. Unfortunately, we're idiots and forgot the camera! Next time...
Luca is growing up so much every day, I feel like he'll be going to college tomorrow! We are so in love with the little muchkin and can't wait for his first birthday!

A few videos
Luca loves this ride at Miss Maddie's house. He loves everything there... you'd think he was at disneyland. No wonder why he cries when it's time to go home :(
Photos and more photos!
