Happy Dad's Day!

Yesterday was not only Dad's day but Amauri's birthday... so we had two items to celebrate! We suprised dad on Saturday by waking him up in Luca's new gi (a martial arts uniform). He is so adorable in it. Then we got professional photos taken (below are a few of them). It was a lot of fun as Luca moves around more and more.

Yesterday Luca brought dad breakfast in bed from his favorite bakery. Then we watched the Brazil soccer game and then headed to Tacoma to hang with Granddad. It was a full day but a fun one. He must have been worn out because he slept in until 7:30 this morning. Normally he's up at 6am sharp!

I cannot tell you what an amazing father Amauri is... Luca is so blessed to have him in his life! They have enjoyed many moments together and Luca thinks he is the funiest person ever!

Luca now has his second bottom tooth coming in. None are in all the way, but they are definately through the gums. He is also enjoying eating more grown up food. He likes to nibble on whatever we have for dinner.

9 months!

Luca turned 9 months old this week! He is so big and growing so much each day. He loves to army crawl on his belly all over the house. He also loves to go swimming and take baths. He is eating new foods all the time, quinoa and rice are the big ones. We gave him a lime the other day to try and it was the funniest thing I've seen in a while. He kept making his sour face and then putting it back in for more! I think he liked chewing on it because it made his tooth feel better. He is finally cutting his first tooth! It's so cute to see it when he laughs. We bought him a baby pool for outside and he splashed for an hour the other night! Here are some recent photos.

Great weekend

We had a wonderful weekend in the sun! We went to Pike Place on Saturday afternoon and walked around for a few hours. It was nice to get out in the warm sunny weather. Luca enjoyed himself, although he is not a big fan of the umbrella stroller. He prefers the bigger one where he sits up high and has a cross bar to hang on to (or to steer with in his mind). He is started to show an interest in crawling which is a good thing. We were beginning to wonder if he'd ever have the desire. We realized we had the wrong motivation. He could care less about the toys... he wants the remote control!

He is still eating a ton. This morning he went to Children's for another ultra sound. We'll get hte results sometime next week. We also have a checkup next week so we'll get to see how much he's grown in 3 months!

We had a great mom's day... Luca got me a trip to Rome! We are going to Barcelona this summer to see his vo and biza and b/c he loves me so much he decided his papai and I should have 3 days in Rome! Now I have the big decision of whether or not to bring him. I'd like to say we'll leave him but it's tough to think about 3 nights without my little piggy!
