For the love of Crepes

We tried out a new breakfast spot yesterday near Boeing Field called The Hangar Cafe (really really good, FYI). Luca absolutely loved... I mean LOVED his jam and powdered sugar crepe. He devoured it pronto and then looked at us and kindly asked "more?". While we tried to explain that it was all done, our waitress came over. Luca, being the smart little boy he is, turned to the waitress and asked "more?" while giving her an irresistable dimple-filled smile. She thought it was the cutest thing ever, we agreed, and had to order him another one because of it! He licked his face in between each bite so that no jam would go to waste. Here's a pic of what he wasn't able to lick off!

Luca, the big boy

I have been horrible about the updates and vow to do better this year!

Luca is growing like crazy! He is in the high 90th percentiles for all stats. He is 31 lbs and is a big boy. He is learning new words every day and it is amazing that he understands EVERTHING we say. Even if he doesn't agree and shouts 'NO', he understands. NO has become his new favorite word. I pick him up from daycare... NO. We tell him it's time for dinner... NO. We say let's play.... NO. I cannot wait for this 'stage' to get over.

We went to the Tulip Festival with Stacey, Brent and CAmpbell and had a great time. Unfortunately it rained and was muddy... and by muddy I mean slippery clay-like mud that was all over us, the kids and caked on our strollers. But we still had a good time and had a nice lunch afterwards. Luca fell in love with raspberry vinegarette that Uncle Brent let him dip his fries in. You would've thought he was in heaven. It's the quietest he's been since turning 1!

We had a lovely Easter with family and Luca loves his Easter eggs. He still plays with them, daily. At some point I will have to pack them up for next year... after he's sleeping of course.

He loves being outdoors. I think he'd sleep, eat and bath out there if we let him. It is quite a show trying to drag him inside. Even bribery of food is not cutting it. He also loves to kick his soccer ball. He kicks it everywhere. He dribbles on the way to the park, at the park and all the way home. It's very impressive.

He is learning new words, mostly in English but he understands both English and Portguese very well. We speak both languages and he will follow either one.

Tonight I put him in his crib and gave him a kiss... he then said "e u" which is "I love you". First time he's said it without us prompting him... I melted like a popsicle. It was one of the sweetest things ever!

He loves finger painting, digging in the dirt and anythign else totally BOY related.

We are enjoying every minute. Well, let's be honest, we could do without 90% of the tantrums. But we truly are loving the moments we have with Luca and are so happy all our friends and family are in his life. Promise to update again soon!
